the better half

This started its life as a somewhat bone stock 1965 triumph tiger 650--the tins and tank and fenders have all been sold off on ebay..I found some really rad dude in Tennessee to trade me his peanut tank with this amazingly bad yet good airbrushing of a raven on it done back in the late 60's for my original triumph tank..also traded him my headlight for a old aftermarket one from the 70's and the big thing that topped this deal off is I traded the guy my rear section (swing arm and all) for his old custom rigid bolt on--blah blah blah.  Anyway I finally got around to laying on my back at 12am in the cold garage and got my hands greasy--the rear is officially off--now I have to send the rigid off to my buddy to sandblast it--things are looking good for spring time surfchecks on the triumph

The Greenoughs of Australia

A devout mastastico reader Danny recently informed me he has purchased a Greenough hull, I promptly requested pictures of said hull. Danny told me that the hull is a Greenough design but it was not made by him but a close friend of Greenoughs. So here is the boat "ditto' I hope danny changes the name but regardless of the name I think the boat is perfect in every way shape and form. Congrats Danny and good luck. *post script* someone please get me one of these for christmass.

Buy a Yacht get a Greenough!

*Greenough surf assualt boat is on the left

I was informed by downunder blog reader danny that he came across my post while doing a search on a Greenough hull. Seems as if he found one and had it imported, anyway in his search he also came across this gigantor yacht that happens to have a Greenough tender. I wonder if the guy who has the cash to buy this might want to get rid of the old hull and upgrade..in that case perhaps a Greenough boat will be on the market soon. Check out the yacht post here..and if any of you money bags out there buy it--please send me some pics of the Greenough

Long as I remember

I think it was 2005 or 2006 I was working for the artist Peter Beard, Andy had been out in Montauk recovering from his skateboarding accident at the Blinde bowl earlier that year. He was staying with Chuck who is Julian Schnabels caretaker out in Montauk. Andy was having a art auction to benfit paying his hosiptal bills from the surgery, I had asked Craig Stecyk to donate to the cause, and this is a few pics shot by my buddy Daniel Dinsburg of us discussing at looking at Stecyks work. The other guy seen in the far right of the frame is Danny(a Monatukian that rides a blacked out black beauty on big swells and kills it). daniel sent me these shots the other day and I have been mesmorized by them ever since..the quality of them is just something that can never be duplicated in digital. There is just a timeless feel to them......We miss you andy

surfcasters journal

Zeno's blog is addicting,Zeno fishes a gazillion times more and a bazillion times better than me. After reading this quote on his blog this morning I am glad to see that Zeno and his staff are as absent minded as I am at times

What is to point of this blog? To inflate your ego?

SJ : As if we had one… Please, one of us drove to Montauk on Sunday and left his rod home. How pathetic is that ?

also on another note here is the current record for the wader division out in Montauk caught by Mikey Milano ..its bigger than I was in 5th grade

Skate films at MOMA!

This is just ridiculus, honestly, you have to hand it to Spike Jonze... and I heard through the grapevine that they will also be playing the seminal out of print hard to find first anti-hero video "fucktards" should be rad considering I remember watching that video in Board Sports dying laughing during their induced vomiting in the kitchen scene (pre Jackass by 10 years almost) --try and scalp tixs

An Evening of Skate Videos
Thursday, October 15, 2009
7:30–11:00 P.M.
MoMA
Theater 1

In honor of the MoMA retrospective Spike Jonze: The First 80 Years, PopRally has invited producer and photographer Patrick O'Dell (of Epicly Later'd) to create a special compilation of seminal skateboard videos from the 1980s to today. Jonze, whose own contributions to the genre will be featured, notes that, "Skate videos have been a big influence and a big part of what I've done for a long time. They are how I got into film, actually." This unique screening is followed by a conversation with legendary skateboarders and filmmakers, including Jonze, Lance Mountain, Greg Hunt, Jake Phelps, Ty Evans, and other surprise guests.

Afterward please join us upstairs for a special performance by NO AGE.

The program begins promptly at 7:30.
